4 days. 4 days is nothing! Only a few more sleeps! The final book in my 8th Island Trilogy – Inside the Sun – is pretty much here! Eek!!! This is more than a launch countdown, it’s a celebration countdown! YAY!!!

To write and publish a trilogy is a huge undertaking and for me it spans just under a decade (I wrote book one – Above the Star – in 2012).

I remember my mom giving me a hard time when I was young if I didn’t finish what I started. I chalk this up to knowing what I wanted, and what I didn’t want. For example, it only took me a couple lessons to know that diving was not my sport, being afraid of heights and falling into water did not make it easier. Back then, I reasoned: why continue if it’s not my ‘thing?’ I like to think I knew myself that well even back then lol.

Still, to sustain a project like writing a trilogy, then finishing strong by publishing all three books… I am pretty proud of myself. I followed through, even when it was hard going. Even when I felt burnt out and empty. I persevered, because I love this so much! Art – and in this case – writing is my jam.
